This is new news to me but probably old new to some. I just found it pretty spooky.
At the Frontline Expo 2004 conference last week, Checkpoint revealed that one of their major clothing clients is secretly working on plans to incorporate item-level RFID tags into all of their merchandise in 2005. Could it be Abercrombie & Fitch? Old Navy? Calvin Klein? Carter’s? Champion? Apparently the brand doesn’t want its RFID involvement publicized; Checkpoint’s lips were sealed.

In the video above, they were adding the RFID chips to the store tags that you take off when you get home. I guess that would allow someone to track you until you threw the tag out. But the above article shows the company putting the RFID chips in the clothing tag. That’s a little more spooky because with that number, someone can track you whenever you have the shirt on. I don’t know why anyone would want to do that but I believe this is another step closer to reaching that Minority Report stage.
